Designed as an immersive clinical experience, this rotation introduces students to the essential principles of anesthesiology, perioperative medicine, pain management, critical care, and patient safety.

Whether students are considering a future career in anesthesiology or simply wish to strengthen their clinical knowledge, the clerkship provides valuable exposure to the management of patients before, during, and after surgery.

Students participate in supervised clinical activities within operating rooms, recovery units and intensive care units across Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences' affiliated teaching hospitals. They work alongside anesthesiologists, residents, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams, gaining insight into both routine and complex patient care. Emphasis is placed on developing some important clinical skills (airway management and IV access insertion), clinical reasoning, professionalism, teamwork, and communication skills.
