Brief Biography: Dr. Leila Emami is an Assistant Professor of Sleep Medicine at Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences and a faculty member in the Sleep Medicine Section at Shohada-e-Tajrish Hospital. She earned her medical degree from Tehran University of Medical Sciences and completed her anesthesiology residency at Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences. She subsequently pursued advanced fellowship training in Sleep Medicine at the University of Chicago and Neuroanesthesia at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). Dr. Emami has played a leading role in advancing sleep medicine in Iran and has established three accredited sleep laboratories in Tehran. Her academic work bridges anesthesiology and sleep medicine, with a focus on perioperative sleep health, obstructive sleep apnea, and sleep disorders in women. She is also actively engaged in international education and research initiatives through the World Sleep Society and the World Sleep Academy.

Her projects include screening for obstructive sleep apnea in surgical patients, sleep disorders in women, the effects of sleep disruption on neurological and cardiovascular health, and the development of artificial intelligence applications in sleep medicine. She is also involved in international collaborative projects and educational initiatives through the World Sleep Society and World Sleep Academy.
