Brief Biography: Dr. Kamran Mottaghi is a Professor of Anesthesiology at Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences and a senior faculty member at Loghman Hakim Hospital. After ranking as the top candidate in the 53rd Iranian National Board Examination in Anesthesiology, he joined the faculty of Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences and has since held numerous academic and leadership positions. His contributions include serving as Deputy of Education, Deputy of Research, and Deputy of International Affairs within the Department of Anesthesiology. Dr. Mottaghi has also played an active role in national initiatives to improve anesthesia practice standards, including collaboration with the Iranian Society of Anesthesiologists and the Iranian National Standards Organization. His academic interests focus on neuroanesthesia, airway management, perioperative patient safety, and evidence-based anesthesiology education and research.

Current Research Focus: Dr. Mottaghi’s current research focuses on the application of ultrasound-guided erector spinae plane blocks in spine surgery. His ongoing projects evaluate the optimal timing of block administration and investigate the effects of adjunct medications on intraoperative bleeding, postoperative analgesia, and recovery outcomes in patients undergoing lumbar spine fusion procedures.
