Brief Biography: Dr. Maedeh Karimian is an Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology at Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences and a faculty member at Shahid Modarres Hospital. She completed both her Doctor of Medicine degree and specialty training in Anesthesiology at Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences and joined the Department of Anesthesiology as a faculty member in 2022. In addition to her clinical responsibilities, she plays an active role in medical education, including the organization of resident examinations and coordination of anesthesiology clerkship rotations. Her academic interests focus on innovative assessment methods in medical education, resident well-being, and evidence-based anesthesiology practice. Dr. Karimian is particularly interested in perioperative pain management, anesthesia for laparoscopic and bariatric surgery, uro-oncologic procedures, and the integration of artificial intelligence into anesthesiology research and education.

Current Research Focus: Dr. Karimian is currently conducting a systematic review on the effects of fentanyl on shivering during spinal anesthesia. She is also investigating the role of dexmedetomidine in perioperative pain control and remains actively engaged in evidence synthesis through systematic reviews and meta-analyses in anesthesiology.
