Brief Biography: Dr. Reza Goharani is an Associate Professor of Critical Care Medicine in the Department of Anesthesiology at Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences and a faculty member of Loghman Hakim Hospital. He earned his MD degree from Shiraz University of Medical Sciences, completed his residency training in Anesthesiology at Tehran University of Medical Sciences, and subsequently pursued fellowship training in Critical Care Medicine at Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences. Since joining the faculty in 2013, Dr. Goharani has been actively involved in clinical practice, medical education, and multidisciplinary critical care research. His academic interests focus on neurocritical care, mechanical ventilation, intensive care quality improvement, and evidence-based management of critically ill patients. He also serves in educational and quality improvement leadership roles within the intensive care unit and contributes to institutional mortality review and patient safety initiatives.

Current Research Focus: Dr. Goharani’s current research focuses on neurocritical care, optimization of intensive care outcomes, and quality improvement in critically ill patients. His recent work includes studies on disorders of consciousness, neurorecovery, cerebral hemodynamics, enhanced recovery pathways in neurosurgery, mechanical ventilation and weaning strategies, ICU bed allocation models, and the application of business intelligence and predictive analytics in critical care management. He is also actively involved in research on postoperative cognitive dysfunction and innovative technologies for improving patient outcomes in neurocritical care settings.
